Wilma Boevink (senior lecturer and researcher with the Trimbos Institute is appointed special lecturer in Recovery, Empowerment and Experience expertise (HEE) at the third level institute Hanzehogeschool Groningen. For many years, Wilma Boevink has dedicated her efforts to improving the position of patients within the psychiatric services. The HEE lectureship is part of the Department of Rehabilitation of the Academy of Social Studies at the Hanzehogeschool.
Important financers of the Department are the Trimbos Institute and the Utrecht Foundation for Supervised Accommodation (SBWU).


In Barcelona, during the fifth congress of ICASA, an international collaborative initiative for ADHD and substance use, a European study on the relationship between ADHD and addiction is announced. ICASA was set up in 2005 by the Trimbos Institute. In the study, 14 addiction care centres in 10 EU countries will assess over 6,000 patients for ADHD and a number of other disorders. The team ‘Alcohol and Drugs in the Social Scene' launch a series of new materials for prevention and information. For professionals there are factsheets such as ‘Alcohol and drugs at events' and for socialisers, informative material has been developed. Tips and tests for dealing as safely as possible with recreational drugs can be found on www.drugsenuitgaan.nl.

 


The brochure Care for youth in motion of the programme series ‘Youth Mental Health Care' is presented. In this publication, the Trimbos Institute outlines its ambitions for the coming years in the area of youth mental care in collaboration with relevant partners in the field. As a knowledge institute in the field of mental health and addiction care, Trimbos wants to make a significant contribution to the development of high quality youth care.
