From 1 January, the alcohol portfolio - and with it, almost all staff - was transferred from the NIGZ to the Trimbos Institute. Accordingly, the anti-alcohol campaign ‘Drink destroys...' has become incorporated into the Trimbos Institute. The national psychiatry museum Het Dolhuys in Haarlem has taken over the distribution of the Trimbos Institute's historic video collection. The collection consists of some 750 video tapes concerning mental health and addiction care dating from the period 1980 to 2000. The tapes include information films, television programmes, documentaries and some movies. |
The annual GGZ Knowledge Congress ‘Whole Person, Whole Care!' was organised by GGZ Nederland. In his opening speech, Health Minister Ab Klink emphasised the importance of evidence-based guidelines for disease management. The subsequent discussions in many workshops and sessions showed how enlightening it is to seek ways to improve health care from a shared vision. |
Greatly expanding the scope of depression prevention in all aspects of care during the coming year. This is the aim of the ‘Mental Fitness' programme [‘Mentaal Vitaal'], which was launched by Health Minister Ab Klink at the GGZ Knowledge Congress. Together with other players in the mental health field, universities and other stakeholders, the Trimbos Institute will execute projects within the framework of this innovation programme on depression prevention ‘Mental Fitness', with a view to achieving the goals envisaged. In this project, information will be collected annually during the period 2008-2013 on the quality and effectiveness of mental health care to older people with a functional-psychiatric diagnosis. All mental health organisations that are affiliated with the umbrella organisation GGZ Nederland may sign up to participate in the monitoring project. |
